Thursdays and Fridays are always busy in the studio, getting things ready for another Market Saturday. There were a few people interested in sizes of the t-shirt design “Of the Earth” (bull design pictured below) so I printed my last batch of this design today on blue indigo and cranberry coloured shirts. So if you were holding off on purchasing this one, tomorrow might be your last chance to get it in your size. Looking forward to a jam packed day of selling tomorrow at the Market until noon, then the Crowd Control sound/art fair (see poster below) until 4:30pm at the Bus Stop Theatre. Just wanted to toss up a couple of new t-shirt designs I am printing this week. They should be done just in time for the Halifax Farmers Market this Saturday and for the Obey Convention’s Sounds and Art Fair Saturday afternoon.

The Obey Convention will once again present a special celebration of DIY culture. Support local and traveling folks showing off their wares. Tons of tables of records, zines, posters, comics, art, t-shirts, etc.

I just want to inform any Market regulars that I will be away this weekend and possibly next. But don’t fret! Geordan will still be in attendance selling his wonderful shirts, prints, etc. I am heading out of town with The Repercussionists (my brothers band)  on their “Thank You, Good Night” CD release tour! We will be traveling to Fredricton, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. If you are in those areas check out the tour dates and locations to come rock out with us. I’ve been slack on my web presence. I apologize to anyone who checks in for updates. I have lots of excuses I could throw out here but I’ll hold on to them. The Halifax Farmers Market has been awesome! We have been getting such a great response and as the weather gets nicer, the crowds get bigger. We still don’t have a set spot of our own but we have been lucky to have had a consistent table the past month next to lovely Anastasia and her wonderful goodies. With my fear of crowds I manage not to spend all the money I make, being surrounded by such wonderful smelling/looking food and crafts.

I am slowly working at getting shirts listed on my Etsy shop. We have also been approached by some local shop owners interested in possibly carrying our products! Very flattered by this. I have been working on ideas for a new site design. I am hoping to have some time to roll that out near the end of the month. I have been chatting about lots of projects with various people, it looks like it will be a busy year. “Bring it on!” I say.  Hope you are all having a wonderful spring so far.

It’s great to be busy and feeling well again, although it seems like the days are rushing past me. I’ve been meaning to update and add photos of my most recent prints for quite sometime. I have finally added ‘Canadiana’ and ‘We have lived here’ in the artwork section.

I am working on my third t-shirt design which will hopefully be ready in time for the market this Saturday. It is a two colour print that I am VERY excited about. I think it will be a hit. I also have four baby tees I am printing as a test. There seems to have been a bit of a baby boom, babies are everywhere. So get your wallets out mom and dad! These shirts are going to be uber cute.

In my plans for the future is a another new site design. ANOTHER one, I know. It’s hard to know what will work until you try it. I am planning to unite good-day and stodesigns under one roof. I haven’t worked out the structure yet, but it will be a general Anna Stowe site. This will allow me to make use of annastowe.com and which I have owned for years now and haven’t really put to use. Hopefully this will be in place by this summer.

My brothers band The Repercussionists have just recently launched a new self titled album and are planning a mini tour from Halifax to Toronto the first week on May! Stay up to date at www.therepercussionists.com

I’ve always wanted a table at the Halifax Farmers Market. I talked with a friend of mine, the talented Geordan Moore (www.whostolemybike.com) and we decided to give it a try. Yesterday was our first day there – thank you for making us feel so welcome! We were very well accepted and will try to attend again next week if space permits. Unfortunately we don’t know where we will be located but have a look around and try to find us!

Lovely Peter Farmer of The Paragon Theatre invited me to hang my work for the month of February in on their café wall! I hung my work on the generous 30 foot white wall last week and it will be on display for the entire month. The opening of the show is THIS TUESDAY February 9th from 8pm-midnight. If you are in the Halifax area please come out and have a look! The mediums in the show vary – acrylic paintings, prints, ink and watercolor and one embroidery piece.
